I have a ten year old Cannondale with a lot of miles and all original gear – Shimano SRX, 7 speed, all in one brake / shifters. Nobody makes 7 speeds any more. Recently the sifter for the rear derailleur stopped indexing. On line advice for the SRX was “not fixable”. I tried several Bike shops who would not consider looking at it and all told me I’d have to buy a new 8 speed shifter (~$140.00) and “fake it” with the 7 speed cluster. Matt at the Chandler Cactus store not only agreed to look at it, he was able to save it. He could have easily sold me a new shifter and I would never have known the old one was fixable. His honesty has created a loyal customer. When the old Bike finally does give up I know where I’m going.
