Reviews By Er S from Minneapolis, MN Posted Jul 21, 2009 My girlfriend and I went into Edina Bike and Sport on a Friday, whereupon she bought a new TerraTrike. We brought in her old trike, and told them to transfer over her cyclometer, lights, rack, and mirrors, as well as put on a new rear cassette and to tighten/set the boom (it was loose when we first looked at it). We were assured that everything would be done by 4:30 the following Monday. The staff seemed cheerful, helpful, and happy, and at the time, it seemed like a great transaction. Then Monday @ 4:30 rolled along. It was as if they had never seen us before. The staff were more surly (I guess because they had already taken our thousands of dollars), and the cassette and the rack were on (they were the new products we had bought from them), but NOTHING was transferred over from the old trike. At first, THEY seemed annoyed that we pointed out that they hadn't upheld their part of the deal, and then conceded that they screwed up, and told us to come back 45 minutes later. 45 minutes later we picked up the trike with all the stuff transferred onto it, and went home (after wasting a bunch of time). We got home, and took the trike out for a ride. But, there were still more issues. They had re-adjusted the seat when putting on the rack, which screwed up the fitting of the bike. So, we had to fix that (another 20 minutes gone). Then, we took the bike around the block, and the computer magnet on the tire was striking the sensor, which we had to fix (5 minutes). Then, the computer didn't read the magnet correctly because the idiots at the shop had forgotten to reset the computer to the new wheel size (10 minutes). THEN, we went out, and the boom STILL WASN'T RETIGHTENED, which resulted in my girlfriend almost getting hit by a car when the cranks went askew when she first applied some real pressure. I had to ride home, get the tools, and fix their idiotic problem. Terrible, really.. Basically Edina Bike and Sport boils down to this: They love selling you their stuff, but once they have your money, they don't really care at all about providing you with any service. It's a nice place if you just want to buy something, but beware if buying something in conjunction with service; you might end up in the road with the pedals falling off the bike.......... Go to the real 'bent professionals, Calhoun Cycle; seriously. Share Your Review Please note: all reviews are screened for spam and take 24-48 hours to be approved. |
