A year ago Harlan's Bike & Tour restored a Schwinn bike of my wife's from the 1950's. Great work and my wife was estatic. Today I called them to perform a bike tune-up and other necessities as they saw fit, for a couple of Roadmaster bikes my wife and I bought from the 1990's. We lived in Key West then, and these were our Key West bikes. We are going to Key West for a month. They said they would not work on "department store" bikes, citing a couple previous isolated experiences. I said I am a multi-millionaire, and I would be happy to give them $1,000 cash up front to perform the tune-up on these two old Roadmaster bikes. My wife loves these bikes, and I was doing this for my wife, and money was NOT on issue. They said no go, if we do that for you, then we have to do that for everyone else?? This is a ridiculous store policy. I was told to try the "other two bike shops" in town.
